Hi everyone,
This year will be my first year attempting home brew, I purchased a few bits...fermenting buckets, small fruit press, pressure barrel, hydrometer, sugar, siphon and a few others bits which were included in a starter kit.
I'm from Hampshire, 24 years old, love tasting and drinking new ciders whether they are local or not, have a few apple trees in the Garden which encouraged me to give it a go, so any help, knowledge and experience from you all would be welcome along my journey.
I have already tried 3 quick DIY cider kits, 1st attempt was a pear cider which didn't come out to badly, was rather flat (following the instructions) but was drinkable, the 2nd tasted / smelt of dead yeast which was a berry fruits kit and the 3rd which was most recent and a john bull cider kit, came out nicely but still left some sediment in the few of the bottles.
So i'm still in the learning stages and this will be my first time using apples from my garden so I'm sure i'll be asking a few questions.
Cheers
J
