Afternoon all.

I was lucky enough to pick up a 48l Aluminium stock pot cheap, I got a 3kw element that goes through a hole in the bottom of the pot.

I'm OK so far but I need some sort of enclosure for the electrical connection that will be under the pot and some sort of stand.

I was thinking of a cast aluminium project box but they seem to be nearly what paid for the pot, so I could do with some options - ideas please.

With the element coming out the bottom the pot is going to need some sort of stand to keep it stable, if my bid wins I should have a small trolley for 'brew station'. I expect to have the pot on the trolleys table top thus the need for a stand, and again I'm looking for good ways to make the stand any suggestions appreciated. I have little more than basic hand tools available.

I also want to fit a tap, I cannot use brass with aluminium and SS is expensive, could I use plastic fittings and if so what type?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and for your help.

Perhaps off the wall a bit, but i just used single gang metal clad boxes to house the element rear of my side mounted ones. these little steel boxes are very strong and sturdy and could make ideal load bearing feet while one could house the element rear..100mm x 100mm x 40mm..
