this lovely creature was in my garage! I believe it is a "false black widow", Steatoda Noblis (male) the most dangerous spider in britian.
I saw a female the other day aswell but it had vanished before I could find the blooming camera.

This one is big for the species coming in at the top end 1/2".

It also vanished in to the garage somewhere

 My wife would have a fit if she saw one of these in our garage!!

The mem saib just had one when she saw the photo on the laptop...just got her off the roof

...now i had one almost identical to that in our conservatory, it was taking on a wasp...and won!! I went at it with the hoover but it was very very fast!!

heh heh .... my missus knows I spend most of my life in here when I'm not brewing (or *cough* working my way through the list of things I'm given by her to do, or at work, or feeding/cleaning/playing with the kids), well you get the picture...

I wonder if she ever has a sneaky peek in here to see what I've been 'talking' about.

UP .. you better hope yours doesn't have the same idea!

Hmmm .. that got me worried.. so I looked it up. It bites! I've been bitten by one of these little devils... it is painful.

I can climb up walls now although I still haven't mastered web-spinning.

Apparently it has really bad eyesight so you can happily stick two fingers up at it without having to run away too fast!

:D
