..and I'm so proud!
I had two brews on the go, an aipa and a dipa single hop. Both in the chamber waiting to hit fg.
I took a top crop from the 23l batch of aipa with wlp023 yeast and put it into a Kilner jar left open but covered in starsan sprayed foil, until it hit fg. I got home tonight from a few days away and also a few days after fermentation had finished, opened the fc to be hit by overwhelming solvent and rotten fruit smell!
Luckily it seems to have confined itself to the top crop sample. Here's a pic...
It's a very powdery looking little fella, honking of solvent and off fruit!
Any idea what it is so I can research it?
