Oh my effing 'ell.
my first ever brew. a turbo cider.
feedback and thoughts greatly appreciated.
Day 1:
3.5 litres x Aldi Rio Grand AJ from concentrate.
1 litre x Aldi Apple & Raspberry from concentrate.
500 grams Wilko brewing sugar.
SG = 1.055
5 grams Wilko Gervin universal wine yeast.
All in a Demijohn and briefly vigorously shaken.
Constant 20C degrees.
After 5 hours and right through to beginning of day 3, four bubbles every second.
Then one bubble every 4 seconds until nothing.
Day 3.5:
Fermentation seems to have stopped.
SG = 1.000
Day 4.5:
Still no fermentation.
SG = 1.000
Siphoned and transferred into fresh DJ.
Am i right in calculating this to be around 7.2% abv?
WOWWEE. had a quarter pint to taste test. Strong kick but bloody gorgeous. Taste is very "au naturale" No artificial flavours at all. Quite sweet which quickly dries on the tongue. No fizz obviously, yet "sharp" enough to not need carbonating (I think.)
I am very impressed.
Very cloudy orange/red colour.
Shall i leave it settle for a day or two?
Should i "cold-crash" it to try and clear some of the cloudiness?
Looking through the forum, this recipe seems to have finished very quickly.
Should i just keep test-tasting it? I don't think i'll get to bottle much of it. yeehaa. :
Already thinking of the next one.
