HLT on at 0900 this morning Strike water temp set to 77C
Grain Temp 7.2C ( chilly morning )
1 litre of boiling water in the Mash Tun to warm the pot.
All Grains weighed out last night ( Maris Otter Dark Crystal and Wheat ) mixed in their bucket and waiting to be mashed.
Lot better brewing this morning now I've cleaned the garage up a little, more pleasant and more room.
Coffee/toast time while the water gets up to temp.. :D

Morning PD

Hope you have a good one. Remember to close all your taps, fit all your strainers, put all you ingredients in and don't forget........................to enjoy yourself.

Have a great day looking forward to the picies.

Quick word of warning you may have to increase you strike temp with your grains being so cold, better to have it hotter and then mix with cold water to get temp than trying to heat up a large volume of grains and water. :thumb:

I always fall foul of that one

I'm on last 15 mins of second batch sparge just waiting to drain runing's off. Wort looks very nice and Wherry''y ... sample taken and cooling off for gravity to be read. No problems apart from a little leak on my tea urn tap, Had to resort to the old wrap a tea towel around it.
Will try and tighten it up before I do the boil.

My new set up, temporary till after Christmas when I hopefully get a new bench and pots in

bottom left is my water bath that's helping to condition last bottles of Nutty Rauch Brown before they go onto join their mates on the ramparts.... :D

Be good to see how your version of the clone goes. Mine is now drinkable and i must say that it lacks body, but everything else is there. Not a bad first attempt at a Wherry Clone. Mine as i posted was from websites where staff and owners had posted some pointers on the percentage of grain used and the whooping quantity of bobeks at the end. :thumb:

Well I collected 27 litres of wort, but my gravity is well down on what I was hoping for.
Recipe calculated I should have gotten 1.046 pre boil and I've only managed 1.035 for some reason....

lets see after boil....

I love the boil....
Time to sit back and enjoy a home brew
This is a glass of Sarah Hughes Mild one I made earlier... :D ). Superb creamy head
