Morning all, Seems my weekend of painting the house is washed out, I'm doing my first AG brew.
Think we'll be calling it "Fire & Brimstone" as we started to dough in, the Largest flash of lighting and thunder straight after
came crashing down!

Well here's the bill

4.9kg of Maris Otter Pale
0.1kg of Crystal 120srm

25g Northdown (90 min)
35g Fuggles (90 min)
15g Fuggles (15 min)
10g Goldings (steeped at 80c for 30 mins)
Protofloc (15 min)
Campden tablet as put 45ltr in HLT (just in case I need more!)

There's photo's coming soon!!!
Mash is on, lost alittle temp so need to adjust strike temp next time.

Kettle's boiled so to have some coffee!

Good on ya MD :thumb:
I hope it goes well for you
You never forget your first time ;)
Mine was a disaster

Looks Good! Rolling Boil on at 11:45am Hops in.
Stupid question time!
Do I need to temperature correct a refractometer reading?
Pre boil reading was 1039 at 94c ( not quite pre boil I forgot so was nearly boil!)
If not then I have done quite well as beersmith said it would be 1041

Hope it continues to go well buddy :thumb:

I don't temp correct the refrectometer - the drop you use cools very quickly on the plate :thumb:

How many litres did you have pre boil?

Well done MD, set your brewhouse eff to 75% before entering your next recipe, you'll soon be hitting your targets bang on.

Cheers,

Screwy
