Hi All! Newbie brewer here on 2nd brew! First was a disaster so I won't go into that, however, on readaing a few threads on various sites I decided I would try Muntons Beer Enhancer with the second brew.

Now, on the Werry box it says to add sugar when transferring to keg/bottle at a rate of approx 1 teaspoon per litre, but on the beer enhancer it says to replace sugar qty with beer enhancer and to add liquid malt when mixing brew. This is what I did, so my I have two questions.....

1) Should i have added to the fermentation bin with liquid malt before adding water?

2) Do I still add sugar (1 teaspoon per litre) when transferring to bottles/keg.

Many thanks

Phil

The beer kit enhancer (BKE) is to go in the fermenter with the liquid extract (instead of using sugar at this stage). You will still need to use sugar or spray malt or BKE when you bottle at 1tsp for 1000ml. The sugars that you use to bottle basically give the beer more sugars to feed on, this produces co2 in the sealed bottle and gives the beer it's condition or life.

Transferred to keg now, will let you know how it turns out!
