I’ve decided to start a new Thread entitled “MP Scandals”.

Although open to ALL currently serving MP’s, I will be concentrating on those currently vying for the position of Tory Prime Minister!

Enjoy!

This “Type in a Tory then add the word ‘Scandal’!” is addictive!

I typed in Andrea Jenkyns, Tory MP and Education Secretary. (She gave the UK public her middle finger today - some advert for “Education Secretary” eh? :D:D) I got the following from 2015:

“The partner of a Tory MP caught cheating with one of Cameron's Cuties was pictured looking unhappy this afternoon as she stepped out for the first time since news of the affair emerged.

Lucy Lopresti's husband Jack was caught cheating after pictures emerged of him kissing former beauty queen Andrea Jenkyns, 41, in Doncaster over the weekend.

Photographs showed the happy couple enjoying a romantic moment on a bench as Miss Jenkyns put her hand on her new boyfriend's leg while waiting for a train.

The pair were later confronted and claimed to be 'just good friends' before the Tory party confirmed they are a couple, claiming the relationship only started in the 'last few weeks'

Mr Lopresti, a father of three, was seen leaving his family home in Bristol carrying holdalls and a packed bin liner yesterday.”

Oh dear! What a shame! Never mind!
clapa

Two Tory MP’s for the price of one query; and here’s the kicker! It was published by MailOnline!

Never forget that the Tories, from top to bottom, have no integrity and no shame!

Nadhim Zahawi

Decided to try and be UK PM today.

He explained in his local newspaper Stratford Herald that the "vast bulk" of his expenses was on staffing costs.

In November 2013, Zahawi "apologised unreservedly" after The Sunday Mirror reported that he had claimed £5,822 expenses for electricity for his riding school stables and a yard manager's mobile home.”

In other words, he got caught and then apologised: just like Boris has done, so “let’s move on” as the Tories say!
:hat:

Grant Shapps

Another who decided to try and be UK PM today.

“On 28 November 2015, Shapps stood down as minister of state due to allegations of bullying within the Conservative Party.

It has been claimed that Shapps, in his previous role as party co-chairman, had ignored repeated allegations of bullying involving Mark Clarke, the then party youth organiser.”

Another one, but this time he apologised, changed his ways (:D?) and was brought back into the Tory fold as Transport Secretary.

So, a confessed bully who stood down when he was caught: just like Boris did many times so “let’s move on” as the Tories say!

Dutto, I'm at a severe disadvantage since the only scandals I'm intimately familiar with have to do with US politicians. I'll keep an eye on this thread and see if your country can top our country as to who's been involved in the most outrageous activities that make one lose faith in their fellow man.

Liz Truss

A wealth of scandal about this woman; again wanting to take over from Boris after supporting him for years! The following is from the Daily Mirror:

Like so many senior politicians, she has also had some bizarre and very public moments that have drawn attention to some of the more human elements of the leadership hopeful.

… being dubbed by some as the “new Iron Lady”.

Truss married accountant Hugh O'Leary in 2000 but came under fire from party activists in her future Norfolk constituency in 2009 over an affair with a married MP.

The fling with then-Tory MP Mark Field is thought to have lasted around 18 months and almost derailed the then-34-year-old's climb to becoming the nominee for the seat.

Speaking at the time, the then Tory leader David Cameron said: ‘She is an excellent candidate and I very much hope she will be the candidate.’

In an impassioned speech at the 2014 Conservative Party Conference, Truss gave a talk about food exports in the UK.

The bizarrely delivered speech became a viral hit after she said, amongst other things: ‘We import two-thirds of our cheese. That. Is. A. Disgrace.’”

I give you a copy of the speech and ask “Do we really want this woman as our PM?”

Enjoy!

Suella Braverman

I really did think that the current Attorney General (again, looking to be PM) would be totally without scandal; but the Daily Wail came to my rescue with this:

“Attorney General Suella Braverman and her religious sect are still mired in *** abuse scandal after founder of the Buddhist group sexually preyed on dozens of young men.”

The Wail then went on:

“This talented woman from a modest background has enjoyed an unprecedented rise since her election as an MP in 2015. As Attorney General, she is the most senior government law officer, responsible for providing ministers with legal advice and supervising the Crown Prosecution Service.

Indeed, Mrs Braverman, who was raised in North London by parents of Indian origin who emigrated to Britain from Kenya and Mauritius, has made waves by claiming that judges are encroaching on parliamentary sovereignty, with decisions like that of the Supreme Court last year which declared Boris Johnston’s
prorogation of Parliament unlawful.”

Just what we DO NOT need! An Attorney General who supports Boris and then criticises the highest court in the land to do so!

Yeah, sadly, I have to admit, David, bad as they are they are, this is minor stuff compared to, you know, trying to overthrow an election. So I think the US are well ahead of us there. But hey, we're heading in that direction.

:hat:

Our new Chancellor of the Exchequer is now being investigated by HMRC over his tax affairs.

But hey, we're heading in that direction.
I hear you. I'm just hoping those latest Supreme Court decisions resonate and put a fire under our fence-sitter voters.
I wouldn't wish our situation or apparent direction on anyone.
I've mentioned it many times that we're in between a rock and a hard place with the way voting areas are manipulated to hand victories to the minorities. That's what happens at both the state level and the national.
I don't know how a revolution won't happen here with the blatant disregard for institutions, the majority, fairness, etc.
I really hope I'm just overreacting.

Penny Mordaunt

A late comer not generally known to me or, I suspect, the UK public. Not to worry, she is known amongst Conservative Politicians!

“This isn't the first time Mordaunt's name has hit the headlines. She was heavily discussed in 2019 after being made the first female defence secretary before Johnson fired her just three months after he became PM. Savage.”

Also;

“Mordaunt was infamously called out on the telly by David Cameron himself (back when he was still Prime Minister) when she claimed that the UK could not stop Turkey joining the EU. It was… absolutely wrong, and seen as a very underhand tactic to whip up fear among potential Leave voters.

“Let me be clear,” Cameron clarified in a televised interview the following day. “Britain and every other country in the European Union has a veto on another country joining.

That is a fact.

“The fact that the Leave campaign are getting things as straightforward as this wrong, I think should call into question their whole judgement in making the bigger argument about leaving the EU.”

The debacle led to a very funny few days of #MordauntFacts on Twitter.”

So, yet another Tory who lies whenever needed! Another one that we DO NOT need to replace Boris!
:hat:

Pre tinterweb these mp's would get away with lying are they so thick they haven't realised they can't fart without anyone knowing, mind you we the public well most are as well, why would you vote for a person who has millions of pounds as your leader

Well plenty of people voted for Blair, who has 40 million pounds. Forget the party, they are all in it for the same reason. My vote goes to the party which will look after the economy of the country. After all the countries debt is the debt of the population. That's why we have taxes.

Blair was labour a champange socialist and should be in jail

Jeremy Hunt

The tosser that ruined the NHS: and apparently a front runner in the Tory Leadership battle! Here’s what the media think of him:

“If Jeremy Hunt succeeds in replacing Boris Johnson as British prime minister, it will be another instance of the ‘nice Tory’ coming after the panto villain.”

and

“I spent much of Hunt’s period as health secretary running openDemocracy’s OurNHS section, investigating what he was really up to. I soon discovered that when you looked past his press releases, you found a very different story – one of missed targets, lengthening waits, crumbling hospitals, missed opportunities, false solutions, funding boosts that vanished under scrutiny, and blaming everyone but himself.”

and

“Some people will never forgive him” for the way he treated junior doctors, according to an ex-NHS official who spent decades at the top of the service. One former cabinet colleague described his name as still being “mud” in the health service today.”

So, another time served Tory failure (sacked by Boris!) now masquerading as a successful Minister!

Should being sacked by one of the biggest liars and cheats on the planet be a recommendation? The answer would be “Yes!” but Jeremy said at the time:

“I would have been honoured to carry on my work at the FCO but understand the need for a new PM to choose his team.

BJ kindly offered me another role but after 9 yrs in Cabinet & over 300 cabinet meetings now is the time to return 2 backbenches from where PM will have my full support."

So, another Tory backstabber!

:hat:

I seem to remember that Shapps was in trouble some years ago over his business dealings - something about using an alias?

With ELEVEN candidates there aren’t enough hours in the day to check them all; and (so far) they all have a history that they hope we have all forgotten about! Some hope eh?

In view of the number and the smell of corruption that seems to follow this bunch of idiots, I have decided to reduce my input.

However, before I did so, I looked up Sajid Javid MP and recently resigned from Boris’s Government.

This man stabbed Boris in the back with his resignation and subsequent House of Commons speech: where he tried to make out he wasn’t guilty of anything by saying he had decided that “Enough is enough!”, as if he hadn’t supported Boris as he lied about almost everything!

Here’s the Lib Dems take on Mr Javid’s activities under the headline “Seven Sajid screw-ups”:

“In terms of furthering his Tory leadership ambitions, it’s been a very successful year.

In terms of tackling the knife crime epidemic, ending the Hostile Environment or providing certainty to the 3.6 million EU citizens
living in the UK, not so much…”

Number 1 was:

“Blaming the police for Tory cuts.”

Faced with a surge in knife crime, police forces across the country are crying out for cash to reverse the £1 billion of Tory cuts that have taken 5,000 officers off the streets since 2015.

Instead of giving forces the funding they desperately need, Javid tried to shift the blame onto the police, telling them to “step up their response”. The police were rightly furious…”

The following six screw-ups are where he either blames anyone but himself, or embraces the theories of high-flying politicians such as Trump!

A genuine Boris clone that we DO NOT need!

It’s worth a read!

Enjoy!

Just watched The Rt Hon Nadhim Zahawi MP do a Trump on BBC!

He didn’t fart of course, he just said the dreaded words “If I become Prime Minister I will publish my Tax Returns!”
:D

We all know how that happened in the USA with Trump - who (as far as I am aware) is still fighting to NOT show his Tax Returns!

The Rt Hon Nadhim Zahawi MP could publish them now if he wanted!
aheadbutt

Yet another Boris appointee that is under investigation and can’t be trusted?
:hat:

Hi Dutto, are you saying we are screwed?

Unless they pick somebody decent, then “Yes as a country.” because most of the surviving candidates have something to hide!

I see we are now down from eleven to eight candidates for Boris’s job!

I can assume that Sajid Javid reads what is said about him and resigned after reading this Post.
:tongue::tongue:

Like any Tory, he immediately put the boot into Rishi Sunak by supporting his bid for “Tory Glory”.

This was when Rishi (and other hopefuls still left in the race) was promising Tories more and more tax cuts!

At about the same time:
  • Keir Starmer was asking where the money was coming from for the tax cuts and labelling the promises as “Fantasy Economics”.
  • Rees Mogg and Dories said they were backing Liz Truss. (That alone may ensure that Liz sinks into oblivion.)
  • Boris’s cronies at No.10 blocked the Labour “No Confidence” vote! The reason given was “The PM had already said he would quit and a vote would not be a ‘valuable use’ of MPs' time.
  • Michael Gove was asked “Are you a snake?” He said “No.” for some reason! :confused.:
Only 8 to go!
