Did anyone see this? £300 a pint? The guy from Carlsberg was a bit vague about what was so special about it - apparently it was made from "4 types of malt" and "4 types of hops" and was an "artisanal product made in limited quantities". It also had a label designed by a "famous Belgian artist" and the empty bottle alone was worth 50 quid!

Apart from the fancy bottle, he could have been describing the kind of beers we brew!

Well ****! Only 4 types of hops . . . . Even Budweiser can beat that it uses 13 different varieties aged for up to three years . . . Guess AB have got their marketing wrong somewhere :D

I would suspect that this beer is probably nothing special . . . but the rarity value of the poncy bottle/label is what creates the 'demand'

Ignore it its poncy bollox for tossers with too much money and absolutely no taste.

Taste is what makes our ales handcrafed and loved, different and unique, In fact our brews are generaly made in batches well under the 600 bottles that Carlsberg claim are exclusive........ This is an advertising gimmick to extend their slogan from "Probably" to be able to claim "Actually its the best beer in the world".....

No it isnt the best beer in the world. What I like to drink and enjoy at any particular moment in time is the best beer in the world........ So Carlsberg why dont you keep your overpriced muck that side of the North Sea..... And while you are at it keep the Jacobson vintage stuff there as well....

Sorry boys the rant-monster just sort of crept up on me there...

Ha ha! :thumb:

What about the Samuel Adams Utopias "strongest beer in the world" then? 26% alcohol? I'd try it (if it wasn't 100 quid or whatever), but I'm sure it can't be that nice.

Have a go at making your own :thumb:

That's definitely one for future consideration!

For the moment I'll have to "make do" with my 2007 Russian Stout that I only drink at Christmas!
