Hi there I wanted to say hello, I am a 32 year old Northerner who got lost and moved down south, I am fairly new to brewing, I made several batches of larger a few years ago and I want to get back into it any advice on kit would be well received. I have to be honest I would like to start out with a good tasting but easy brew, maybe a beer and larger. One day I will tackle fresh brewing but I think I will need a lot of help.

Thanks guys
Col,

Hi Colin, nice to meet you.

Haven't done a kit in years I'm afraid so not up on what is good. Plenty here will know though!

Hi colin, I recommend Woodfordes kits, v easy to. Use and produce excellent ale every time. They have a good range and make 40 pints. I have. Just finished my woodfordes wherry bitter and now brewing woodfordes headcracker 7% strong stuff.

The general opinion is the kits with 2 tins are better..cost more but ya pays ya money and all that.. :thumb:
The guys will always help...you don't need a lot to get started...FV..hydro..do you have a local homebrew shop?

Read the "how to posts" there's loads of info on all types of brewing..you never know AG may call you to the dark side

Yes 2 tin kits are far better quality. The 2 tin kits come in a box and cost around £20. Woodfordes and munstons make superb kits

J1 x fermentation bin with grommet in for airlock
1 x hydrometer
1 x thermometer or temp sticker for side of fermenting bin
1 x beer kit pref 2 tin type which comes with yeast already
1 x long mixing spoon
1 x syphon tube different types available
50 x 500ml bottles if bottling ( I always bottle and don't barrel or keg )
1 x barrell or keg if you want to do this
bottle caps and capper if bottling
sterilising solution
Heater if brewing in cold room

Hope this helps. This will get you well on your way and enable you to comletely brew your homebrew from start to finish :thumb:
