Hello,

I live in Sheffield and the local Abbeydale brewery does a beer called Moonshine. It's a delicious, hoppy, slightly citrusy pale ale. Possibly has cascade hops?

I don't know if Abbeydale beers travel far and wide and are available in many other parts of the country, but I'm trying to find a recipe to replicate this beer, and was wondering if anyone who's tried it, or anyone who has some brainwave from the ridiculously pathetic description I've given, could suggest something?

Thanks,

Jim

Don't know this one but there is a recipe for Townes IPA which may do the trick for you and be along those lines....

IIRC :

95% Pale Malt
5% Wheat Malt
Cascade full boil to 40 IBU
30g Cascade Aroma/Steep (per 25L)

90 min 66 Mash
90 min boil

S04

I'd also be tempted to add some late hops (15 or 10 mins) - a nice idea may be to get 30IBU from the full boil and 10IBU from the 15 or 10 min addition. :thumb:

This does make a nice ping IMO.
