Milestone IPA kit yeast

I've just opened this kit as I'm bottling my Donner & Blitzed tomorrow and want to get it on straight away...

Anyway,inside I found an 11g Gervin yeast packet, rather than the 6g "standard beer kit yeast" (silver packet, three letters on the side, you know the one ) that's been in previous milestone kits I've made :thumb: I was wondering if anyone knows if this is only in the IPA kit or whether this yeast is being rolled out across the Milestone range of kits? Would be nice if it's across the board :hmm:

I've asked Milestone, so I'll update with any answer I get...

Milestone have forwarded the query to Muntons, but were unaware of any change to the yeast :hmm:

Also, I was expecting the IPA to be pale. It seems to be darker than Wherry :wha: I'll post a picture at some point...

Right. I received this reply a while ago, but didn't update at the time

Hi there

Muntons have changed the yeast to the original Milestone recipe. We think that the Gervin yeast is far superior.
