Nothing special beer wise, but I thought this would be worth posting as I brewed for 2 reasons - 1) to fill a keg up and 2) to really get my figures down for my extract method.

So what have I found out? Well, accuracy is very important - so I've marked the 9 litre mark onto my pot by adding 9 litres water to the pot before brewing and then starting again, including the extract in.

I've calculated the top up water required after boil off, meaning I can both treat my water and pitch my yeast straight away, squeeze the now cool hop bag to get all of the extract out maintaining my OG, and maybe most importantly, keep brewdays much simpler.

With that said, i'm pretty confident that my IBU and ABV should be bang on from now on. And, well...that makes better beer! This batch came up at 22L as I got my top up wrong, but I've adjusted ready for next time.
