Hello All and Merry Christmas. After a month's brew-break I have itchy fingers.

Here's my plan to kick off 2012 (hopefully starting on Tuesday)

Old Hooky and Morland Best from Dave Line's 'Brewing Beers like those you buy'

Then a crack at my own recipe IPA Lindsley (my cousin is Iain Peter Alan Lindsley)

Going with:
4.5kg Maris Otter
60g Roast Barley
200g Flaked Maize
Fuggles and Goldings hops with a bit of dry hopping for good measure.
I'm not even thinking about targets I'll just see what OG I get at 23L and then give it a proper scientific test at Easter...the experiment will simply be 'Oi cuz how does this taste?'

Then a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Clone, another APA but again my own recipe:

Harvey APA (Harvey is my mixed up golden labrador)
4.5kg MO
400g crystal
Northern Brewer, Challenger & Fuggles

After that clones of Old Speckled Hen and Summer Lightning and the end of the plan is to brew some more Mint Choc Stout (named Ben after my far less mixed up black labrador)

Hopefully all of that will be done by March!

Very good.

I too have Brewers twitch:

Planned for this year starting 3rd Jan:- Brewing twice monthly
On the big kit:-

Dronfield Best Bitter (stocks running out rapid style)
Dronfield Redneck, bit less cascade this time
Dronfield Pale, (goes down far too well)

All brewed on rotation throughout year

Then specials for comps, easter and holidays (on the little kit).

Sillit Bhang 4.6% (pale ale with ginger and corriander) to go with big party planned and curry cook off, not going heavy on conditioning to assist with exhaust emissions.. Burrrp!
Starr Dhrops (Marmalade infused pale) with Bramlin cross and fuggles, bit of an experiment.
Pledge (all nelson hopped pale)

MAY

Beer festival here in Dronfield, I will be scaling up and brewing on the really big kit for this. Down to the local micro, 2.5bbls of golden lovelyness.

Hi Rich. I'm still considering my next move. I have 18kg of Maris Otter that wants using so it won't be a lager.
Am quite likeing the idea of a really hoppy pale ale...I have EKG, Challenger, Target and Northdown, which I don't think are quite going to cut it....need something with a bit more bang! Cascade might fit the bill?
What grains does your SNPA clone have in? I'm at the in-laws at the moment so away from my books

SNPA was:
5.45kg lager malt
0.45kg crystal

hops:
30g Northern brewer 60 mins
30g Cascade 10 mins
70g cascade 1 mins

yeast SO5

I think you could do this ale with pale malt and it would be as nice if not better
