Just noticed were 1 off reaching 8000 members must be the biggest home brew forum by now

We had 8002 this morning at 5am until I killed 3 overnight Chinese spammers :)
I bet jims has more spammers on their accounts than us

LOL I have just become an admin on a charity's forum and they had over 50,000 "members" the trouble is that the majority were spam accounts. They have an IT company look after things but they haven't ever put good spam protection in place. Over the course of a couple of days I deleted about 35,000 accounts which have never posted just populated their signature field with links (for search engine optimisation) and there are still plenty more!

Shame really but just goes to show how the figures can bump up if you don't do the house keeping!

I find Jim's a bit dry-there's more of a laugh to be had here (plus good quality advice as well).
The weekend chat makes the forum stand out from the crowd as well.
