Never too keen about filling out one of these. :-(
Second generation home brewing. Mum started in approx 1963, I started somewhere around 1971. She having now died, I've inherited all her equipment and recipe books. These days mostly I brew beer - a long time ago I had a beer praised by a local landlord and had a long conversation on brewing with David Bruce - though there's always several gallons of wine on the go, plus things like sloe gin and hawthorn brandy. I frequently do experiments or am happy to follow up a fortunate accident. For example, following one recipe I found recently I accidentally started a sherry flor on an elderberry wine; the recipe had called for the addition of brandy and some raisins. The brandy got the alcohol content to that required by the flor, and I presume that the relevant yeast was on the raisins. :-) I wait to see if the result is drinkable. :-) If it is, I shall try to deliberately recreate it. OTOH, it may taste foul - you never know. :-)
I'm always trying to improve my recipes. :-) Though with some, I leave well alone. :-)
