MPs go into the 1922 process soon - and if Johnson gets into the last 2, it goes to the Shires, who adore him. I think it is highly likely he'll be the new PM.

He then has a choice - gamble on an election (which I think he will be attracted to), or press on and deliver the thing that shall not be named.

His absolute lack of class, guile, strategy, humanity, relevant intellectual currency, statesmanship, competence, work ethic and humility could easily result in NDB, because he craves legacy above all else.

Even a Quixotic ****fest.

With all these people who “don’t vote Tory” I’m amazed that they ever get to form a government!

I noticed that in her farewell speech Tess pointed out that she was the UK’s second female PM; I can only thank God that she is leaving before she does as much damage to the UK as the first one!

BTW, for anyone who doesn’t understand, there is a huge difference between “Communism” and “Socialism”!

The difference is at least as much as that between “Fascism” (for which we fought a war to prevent) and “Conservatism”.

The Labour Party (of which Mr Corbyn is the leader) is a Socialist Party that wishes to bring socialist attitudes to the way in which the UK is being governed.

Neither the Labour Party or its Leader is “COMMUNIST”; despite what you may read in the right-wing Media. Sorry!

Labour haven't been a truly socialist party since they dropped clause 4...

Labour haven't been a truly socialist party since they dropped clause 4...

This version of Clause 4 appears on the back of my very own Labour Party Membership Card:

"The Labour Party is a democratic socialist party. It believes that by the strength of our common endeavour we achieve more than we achieve alone, so as to create for each of us the means to realise our true potential and for all of us a community in which power, wealth and opportunity are in the hands of the many, not the few, where the rights we enjoy reflect the duties we owe, and where we live together, freely, in a spirit of solidarity, tolerance and respect."

It was adopted by the Labour Party in 1995 and it is still the ONLY way in which we the UK can be governed fairly.

May I ask where, within the Conservative Party, there is any mention of "... in the hands of the many, not the few ..."? (Apart from the words spoken in the resignation speech of Theresa May, where my own thoughts revolved around the word "hypocrisy"!)

If we are going to debate socialism I think it needs a new thread and I'm not going to start it but will join in if anyone else does.

Don't get me wrong, I am a socialist, but Labour have been socialist in words only since clause 4 was dropped.

No need to start another its the snug topics rarely stay on the original topic and this one will be no different all i ask is that members keep it civil.

I can't help but keep watching the moment she starts scrating, I burst out laughing each time, I have never been a fan of hers as I have never believed she could deliver Brexit as she didn't believe in it ,to be honest I voted against joining the common market back in the 1970's and I haven't changed my mind about it since, I would like raab to be the next leader but Boris will do, and you probably guessed I am not a socialist ,to me it's like a dark cloud descends on this country every time we get a left-wing government in power,

This is just a strange delusion you have, mate. Trotsky was definitely communist and believed that only a global communism could succeed. So is the so-called "momentum" faction that has taken over the party of your childhood choice. There is no Labour party any more. All those people and all those jobs they did have been mechanised over the course of your life. Did you not notice?

Beer wasn't invented to make us sober nor politics to keep us civil. I see the first pints are being thrown and chairs smashed.

Here! Who's nicked my bag of popcorn?

Surely this repetitive diatribe is going to wear thin at some stage.

One would think. I used to believe that; however, the US president has a substantial, unwavering base of followers and it literally does not matter to them how shockingly bad he governs or that he openly attacks the US system of government. I kept waiting and waiting for the republicans in Congress to intervene. They haven't and if an intervention hasn't happened by now, it won't.

Unfortunately, with our antiquated electoral college system, the US runs an actual risk of electing him to a second term.

On a side note, the UK did a nice job with that float of the orange baby on his last visit so thank you. I encourage peaceful protest this time around as well when the president visits.

She took the job to do 1 thing and she failed.

Nooo she didn't. Theresa May fulfilled her role admirably, whatever she or anyone else thought her function was she was installed as PM in order to take the blame for Brexit and she couldnt have done a better job of it

But one thing is clear by now: the EU is not about the people, it's all about the politics.

Back in my youth during the late seventies I was a Labour Party Young Socialist, affiliated to the Marxist militants, The Militant Tendency, lol dishing out their newspapers, I wanted change lol. Then during my twenties when I was self employed I opted to Conservatism. (Leopard changing his spots)

These days I have no involvement with politics whatsoever, I abstain from voting... the World, Europe & the UK is in a mess and won't change whoever is elected, we are going from bad to worse! I do have a real concern for the erosion of our delicate democracy which has been shown by constant calls for a second referendum. That's about all I'll say on these matters. :D
