I’ve just bought a maxi 210 beer cooler.

I need some help with how to set it up for what I need it for.

I want to use it to cool a tub of water which I will use to cold crash my FV (my FV has an internal cooling coil which has its own pump and controls so I just need a cold Water bath).

Do I just use the out and return for the python line, or do I need to do something with the product cooler coils???

Hi - I've used a maxi 110 for dispensing 2 kegs (Golden Ale and Bitter). I used the re-circ outlet to cool a beer cooling pod, which, in turn cooled the beer fed through it. If your FV has a cooling coil and pump, you could just connect to the beer lines. If you want to use the FV coil and cool the tub of water in tandem, the FV's pump will circulate through the beer lines, and the re-circ pump will cool the tub, but it could take a while to get a large volume of water cold enough. If you clarify what you're trying to achieve, I can clarify my reply.
Cheers,
Chris

just hook the cooling coil upto the recirculation/python pump and recirculate the water held in the maxi waterbath.

Just be midfull to sit the chiller at the level of the FV top or higher and to top up the waterbath when the plumbing has been added and filled before use.

sitting the chiller lower could encourage gravity to pull a vacuum in the coil when not pumping and empty liquid thru the chillers overflow, of if any leaks are present in the plumbing drop out more liquid resulting in the chiller running with less than optimum liquid which in the worst case could kill it.

just use a controller like an inkbird or stc1000 etc to control the recirc pump leaving the chiller/compressor running 24/7 (once down to temp with an ice wall, unless used to chill your brew the chillers insulation should maintain the cold with only small inputs from the compressor)

invest in some armoflex tube insulation and lag the FV well, And Dont expect to hit the -4c max the chiller can atain in the FV if yu get down to +4c in the summer your systems performing great and winning
