I've just had some pheasant a mate gave me a week ago. Pan fried with streaky bacon, shallots, mushrooms and deglazed with Port. Ate it with roast spuds, green beans, asparagus (I know - smelly wee), baby corn, broccoli and a pint of my treacle stout - a lovely massive hit of flavours. What is your best meal/drink combination?!

I don't like beer with food, much prefer a soft drink but I do like a glass of wine with a decent dinner. Only 2 - 3 times a year do I drink with food.

I dont drink at meal times (apart from Christmas dinner) but i always have something to eat with a drink nuts etc.

Three chateaus - chateaubriand, Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1964 (my birth year), chateau croquembouche. Once in a lifetime....

My biggest sin, snacking when drinking the ale,a substitute from packing in the **** 18 years back, anyway my favourite is pork scratchings or dry roasted nuts

The other end of the scale - fish and chips and a can of Stella, sitting on the beach underneath Eastbourne pier. Heavenly.

I lean towards the German side.... Smoked meats with full body beer, like stouts and stuff.

DOn't normally drink with food either apart from a pale beer with a curry , generally when I go out for a meal I will have a beer.

What my mum told me which I thought was interesting was, she was on a wine tasting tour and the wine expert told them all to put a small rock of salt on their tounge before trying this particular type of wine and they all noticed it was enhanced, often red wine is eaten with food and the natural seasoning of the dish can enhance the drink.

A kebab goes really well with seven pints of bitter, I re discovered on Saturday night. :thumb:

In fact it doesn't just go with it, it's like a force that pulls you in from anywhere within a two mile radius of a kebab shop.

Which comes first the kebab or the beer? most people do the latter but I happily do the kebab first

Chicken for me with mayo and chips! It a dirty treat

The kebab usually comes last, but sometimes in the middle.

I don't eat a meal with beer but i do enjoy nibbles.

I like to eat scratchings, wasabi peas or peanuts are a particular fave of mine, also like a bombay mix and chevra which is a spicy version of the bombay.Biltong is lovely but expensive. After my beers session i do like a mingy kebab,i know they are everything that is wrong in a food but after a beer who cares.

I made a nice 5 New Zealand hop ale and matched it with chilli, tortillas and a home made guacamole, went together really well.

Geography was never my strongest subject.
