As I'm only in the UK temporarily as a student, I don't really have many tools available to me. Just wondering if anyone in the Edinburgh area would be willing to lend me a hand (and tools!) making my mashtun and boiler.

I've finally received my chutney jars to make the boiler and HLT, so now I just need to buy my coolbox and the other bits and pieces like valves and elements.

I am willing to travel about an hour by bus if anyone is able to give me a hand :)

I'll make sure to bring a couple (store bought  ) nice ales along with me for the job :)

Hi Stubbs,

I'm near Falkirk - I can certainly help you, although exact timing of that might be interesting - life is BUSY!!!

I have all the tools needed for a build, and experience of building a fair old amount of brewing kit, although I've not tackled a coolbox before, but I don't see a problem!!

Happy to discuss time etc :thumb:

Awesome. I think I am actually going to convert one of the chutney instead of a coolbox. I'm thinking of going the false bottom route, and it would be easier to fit one in the barrel rather than in a coolbox (plus I already have the barrel :D).

Looking to gather the rest of the pieces up, and after a quick trip to B&Q I have realized that even with shipping, ebay is still cheaper somehow.

Are these what I am looking for?

15mm Compression Ball Valve Tap: Ebay

15mm Compression Tank Connector: Ebay

Plus some elbows and I plan to make the boiler strainer from a crimped shut copper tube with holes in it.
