Started this yesterday afternoon. Brewed using LME and ashbeck from tesco. Pitched at about 25C, maybe a little lower. Since then it's dropped to 23C.
All OK... But wow!! Its lively. OG was 1.052, down to 1.03 already. It blew the air valve, so I've put a blow out tube in feeding into a demijohn of water. It's hammering away with almost constant bubbling!!
Is this normal for a belgian - assume so, as I've done nothing special?
Will it slow down and still take 2 weeks to ferment, or will it crash to the target FG quickly and need bottling sooner?
I cant find the FG guidance for this on mangrove jack site, so have contacted them for guidance on that. However, maths to get the target ABV suggests about 1.014.
Any others given this a go and had the same?
As its so lively, do I need to be conservative with priming the bottles?
