Looks like a nice recipe, wouldnt have said there were too many hops there. What was you last stout btw??

i havent tried the twisted stout so cant vouch for it but looks good and i get the impression they only publish tried and tested recipes on that site. If i were you id give it a blast. If you do let us know how it comes out looks a bit of a bargain!!

That's what I thought. I had virtually all of the ingredients already but 70 grams of bittering hops looks too much for a stout so I'll drop that to 35, which gives me just under 29 IBU.

well my opinion is malt millers looks ok , i would reduce the cara 3 to around 150g/200g and i would reduce the ibu to around 35 but i'm not a fan of hoppy beers or too much very dark malts

I brewed it a few weeks ago here

but with Bullion hops, it's been bottled for 5 weeks now, lovely fruity coffee flavour, highly recommended :thumb:

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks Ed. I'm aiming for 26l and am not looking for an overly fruity finish so will just reduce the early hops by 50%. :thumb:

Has anyone used this recipe who can vouch for it? I fancy giving it a go after getting my last stout wrong (too bitter) but this recipe looks a little high on the use of hops. Any opinions?

I brewed this recently (Brambling Cross hops) and it turned out very nice, hoppier than usual for a stout but it works well !
