I'm trying to add lyles black treacle to beer engine, apparently it's not 100% fermentable. I've been doing a lot of digging on the internet and found conflicting information.
Does anyone know the true figures?
I need to know:
Fermentability % (most important)
Colour EBC
Extract LDK
Moisture content
Conflicting data is as follows
âYield 100.0, Colour 265.0, Acidity Type base' (I assume yield = Fermentability)
http://www.brewtoolz.com/fermentable_types/189-black-treacle-lyle-s
Listed as 100L in brewing classic styles
https://books.google.co.uk/books?id...DUQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q=old ale treacle&f=false
âBlack Treacle, Extraction 240°/Kg/l*, Colour 200 EBC (10% soln.), notes Partial invert/molasses'
