Had to re install my OS and completely forgot to back up or save my beersmith recipe's. :( Luckily I keep a diary with all my recipe's in so i can re-install beersmith and hopefully carry on. I sent a mail to beersmith asking for my key again and they replied straight away. For the price i paid i'm now more impressed with beersmith than ever before. Most things you pay for online with an online download the support is useless or they never respond. Top marks to all at beersmith. I'd recommend this to everyone. Even though it doesn't accurately work out the costings it's still a very good value for money product.

Backup . . . Backup . . . . Backup. . . . . . And Backup Again

I keep Promash and my Recipes on a Pendrive . . . which I sync with the main PC here . . . and my Laptop . . . . . The main PC has a 1 TB NAS Box as a Backup Device . . . and a 400GB USB disk for additional Syncing . . . . No its not for my brewing recipes . . . but my photographs

Sorry to hear your problems . . . when I rebuilt my last laptop at work I 'forgot' to backup my outlook .pst file . . . and 'lost' about 5 years worth of work email . . .. shame . . . .

i know it's too late for this now, but every recipe i make i export as a beermith file and email it to myself, just to be sure ;)

Which is why i have a brew diary written in ink on paper. Bit of a pain but not the end of the world...

Can't beat a hard copy. I print out the Brewsheet in BS for every recipe I do and keep them in a ring-binder. Great for adding notes to along the way so you remember how you tweaked one brew against another from the same recipe.
