little bottler mishap

ive just this minute started a new brew and have just realised that ive forgot to put that little red thingy on that goes inside the tap from the little bottler and obv no chance of putting it on now as its full of lovely young beer!

my question is does anyone know if this will make any difference when it comes to bottling, this red thing looks like it will filter the beer slower through the tap.

Heh - I didn't know what that was for and didn't fit it to mine. Bottled 2 brews without it and the bottling stick worked fine.

IIRC it's either a sediment trap or it diverts yeast away from the tap...can't remember which . Anyhow, I never used it on mine, come to think of it I didn't use the tap either

I didn't get one (second hand) and I've never had a problem.

yeh a sediment trap/divertor it looks like to me. nothing wrong with a bit of sediment, adds flavour! thanks for replies. roll on a weeks time
