What's the difference between LMEs such as Beerworks Liquid Malt Enhancer/Mangrove Jacks Pure Liquid Malt Extract 1.2kg which are both under a fiver and the more expensive LMEs such as Coopers/Muntons?

I looked at the Mangrove Jacks 'Malt Enhancer' and the descriptions are ambiguous. Some indicate it's malt extract some don't so I'm not sure what it is. The only way of finding out is to try some, or drop Mangrove Jacks a line. However I used to buy cheap unbranded LME some time ago and found I got the dreaded twang when I used it (as did others on here) so stopped buying it.
