I used to brew wine years ago and have brewed beer occasionally since the early eighties.
Now I have renewed enthusiasm after lurking on this forum and picking up some ideas. I have just done my third extract brew since November and it seems to have started fermenting OK.
I have limited resources in terms of space and equipment. My garage would make a good nano brewery but it's full of my other passions (which have wheels on them). So today's brew was accomplished with a 5 gallon FV, a jam thermometer, a spoon, a colender, a sauce pan and a pressure cooker (because it's the biggest pan I have). I steeped 300g of crystal malt at 65C for 1 hour, Boiled 45g of hops for 60 mins, a further 23g for the last 20 and 23g for the last 5. I used 2.5Kg of light spray dried extract and can't wait to taste it. It might be a bit early, though, it's not been fermenting for 4 hours yet.
