This has probably been done to death in the past but well

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the two

Up until Saturday I had always used Pellets and well they do the job, However the HBC kit came with leaf hops at least for the boil (I think the dry hop may be pellet). I was curious to see the difference.

Both types seem to smell great, but I hear leaf isn't quite as effective as pellets? I know you can store pellets longer in the freezer.

One thing I did find was the leaf hops seemed easier to strain the wort into the FV and squeeze the wort out with the bottom of my sanitised jug..

Apart from looking like I seriously overcooked 100 sprouts they seemed a lot less messier to clean up.

So I just wondered what or why people would say pick one type over the other, I have seen some people with a recipe where they did say pelle to bitter leaf in the aroma ect..

I'm not sure it really matters what you use. Depends on what practicalky suits your brewing equipment probably. I can get more pellets in the freezer, though, which is handy! And I think they keep a bit better. But I mostly buy leaf. Leaf are good for straining the wort, but absorb more than pellets.
