What should I see happening on top of the fermentation bucket. Cant see much happening. It's been in for 2 and a half days. There is a few bubbles and bits on top. I though the whole top would be a foaming like the head on on pint

It can depend. Often the foam dies down after a couple of days but it will still be doing its thing which I am sure yours still is. Do you have an airlock? Although they cannot be relied on fully they usually give a good indication of activity.

If you’re fermenting with a lager yeast and fermenting cold you probably won’t have any Krausen as the yeast ferments at the bottom.

Take a gravity reading if you’re worried but it’s probably fine 👍

Didn't see any foam really. It's just in a standard starter kit bucket. Just want to know it's actually working as I'd start again now instead of going through all this and bottling to find out it's gone wrong

Its fermenting in the arir cupboard. Waiting for my thermometer to come should of came today but didn't. It should be around 18-20 degrees. What's a gravity reading not used to these terms. First time of doing

You need to use a hydrometer to work out the strength of your beer and to get an accurate picture of how much it has fermented. They only cost a couple of £ 👍

Yeah I got one of them it said to do a test about 5 days in and it needs to be on a 1000 or when it reads the same for 3 days straight
