Lager malt or Pilsner Malt

I've been brewing a few lagers lately and I've been pleased with the results (it the future!!) - the latest batch made with flake maize is particularly promising, really crisp!

I've been using lager malt, as it's cheaper than Pilsner - is there really that much difference between the two? For the lager brewers amongst us, is it worth the extra cost to go for pilsner malt?

Thanks - I did a search but that thread didn’t appear.

The synopsis- no real difference. I’ll stick with UK lager malt for now.
