Please accept my ignorance and maybe stupid questions but here goes!!As a pensioner I started brewing extract brews and over the years have had great success some beer being more paletable than others!
I would love to try BIAB and am considering buying the Klarstein Fullhorn mash kettle.Firstly is this a reasonable piece of kit to buy and would it suit the purpose?Secondly if i still wanted to do extract kits could i use this mash kettle and transfer to plastic fermenter to put in my brew fridge which is controlled by an STC 1000?

Hope this makes sense

Stay safe and well

Thankyou

I have the klarstein fullhorn 30l kettle and use it for all grain brewing as part of a 3 pot system and it does the job very well. I haven't used it for a biab though as I don't use this method. I have had it nearly a year and it has been reliable and easy to use.

If you are asking if you could use it as a kettle for boiling an extract-based wort and then transfer through the tap to the fermenter then yes you could.

The fullhorn in use today:

Hi Shipstone i have one bought last July no probs so far, i also bought the bag from them, i do mainly biab and some extract, up to the full mark line is 27L i do the occasional 23L which is pushing the limit you have to do a dunk sparge and bag squeeze so i mainly stick to 21L, Value for money worth every penny,

Hi Shipstone and Rod (nice to see you back mate)
you can still do 23ltr batches just do the recipe as per 23ltr then use a lower amount for the boil and sparge (to your 21ltr)as you usually do then you OG will be higher then just add boiling water to it in the Fv which if you hit the right figures will go back to your original OG
It does work if you need the extra volume

Now ive got a dilemma! Thanks fòr your replys im definately going down the Klarstein route but do i go Fullhorn or Maischfest?Seems the latter has a wort cooler and grain bin!I Your advice would be most appreciated.Cost wise with not going to the pub during the week beer tokens are in abundance!!!!

If you are not on a very tight budget, I would spend the extra few quid and get the Maischfest. The grain basket also doubles as a hop spider. Immersion chiller is a bit basic but gets the job done if you stir wort whilst cooling. The Maischfest price varies up and down quite a lot - quick look suggests its currently at the top end of spectrum - has been seen as low as £179 plus an extra 10% off for signing up to newsletter. So if you can be patient .....
