Kettle colour

Do we think the colour of the kettle will affect the flavour of the beer?

Is it a trick question? Do you think it should happen? Is it something you want to correct? Do you think you have a possible issue?

Will it affect flavour? In the kettle probably not. I would not want it in a fermenter though. Never had it in mine, and some are 10 years old.

Is it a symptom of an issue that may also have a negative affect on flavour? Possibly.
 
@Sadfield I am keeping a eye out for some kit for a mate and I am seeing a lot of used kit this colour & just wondered if it's normal.
If you're concerned about it, I'm sure it wouldn't be to hard to clean. A good soak in pbw revolves the gradual build up of that brown layer on my kit and leaves it nice and shiny. Barkeeps friend also removes it nicely.
 
I wouldn't cook my family's diner in it, i wouldn't brew beer in it. I would give it a clean so it came up brand new, not difficult do with various different chemicals that are easily available.
