Im considering buying a keg to have a go at kegging some of my beer, what is the best and most popular system that brewers use

Corny are good start I personally use them but a keg is only one piece of the puzzle, you will need hoses for gas and serving, ball lock fittings, a tap, picnic tap can function, gas regulator and bottle plus somewhere to keep it cold like an old 2nd hand fridge. also you might need something like a auto syphon to fill it from the fermenter or valves connectors and more hose if you want to pressure transfer.

There are starter kits I think from most homebrew online stores but this wont cover everything

I just bought a 2 corny keg starter system from BrewKegTap. Super easy to order as it comes with everything you need bar a fridge and gas. Once I have got it set up I plan on setting about getting the other bits I need for doing closed transfers.

I started drinking from my first 2 kegs this week. I got the BrewKegTap starter kit too. Sourced the CO2 from a perfectly bonkers local welding supplier. He had a Guinness tap and a Harp tap rigged up in the middle of the workshop. It’s been easy to set up, and best of all bottling day is now a thing of the past.
