Hi guys,

I was originally going to go with a cooling jacket but they seem rather expensive. I came across this the other day: http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st ... 7C12079473

I was planning to tie this round my keg and stuff it with ice packs then change ice packs once a day, would this work as its much cheaper and I can pick it up to save on delivery.

Thanks guys

:hmm: not sure it would, but...at that price it has to be worth a try - you will find another use for the stuff if it doesn't work anyway I suspect :thumb:

Or you could get some of the big polystyrene blocks used to line floors or in between inner and outer bricks, make it into a box.

Line it with the silvered foam on the inside.

Then take the ice blocks or better and cheaper, take empty 2L PET bottles partially filled and frozen then drop them in box in the corners.

bit like this guy has built

OR

Get a fridge of Freecycle or from the papers for 0-30 quid if your keg would fit. Advantage with the above is that it could be dismantled and stored flat in the winter.

smod is lucky, he has LOADS of room in his garage for fridges!

Unfortunately thats not practical for me and neither is getting a fridge as I have little space.....help!!?! :drink:

Not sure if it can be adapted but we buy frozen bait for our shop and comes overnight delivery still frozen. They use the big polystyrene fish boxes that you see on trawlermen. If you ask at a fishmongers I am sure you will get a couple and you can easily store bottles in them or possibly two together will hold a small barrel???? It is worth a look. Just leave some half filled plastic pop bottles in the freezer and replace with fresh ones each day.
