k-97 not for me

3rd and last time im gonna to use this yeast. i am not sure what it is about it but it's just not very good. it tastes like a very bland hefeweizen yeast, with no banana or bubblegum. i am not sure where some get the idea that this is a kolsch yeast but i dont get that at all. maybe with a large portion of wheat as the grain bill this would dull the wheat tartness and be ok, but there are better options out there.

anyone else disapointed with k97?

I've not seen it described as a hefeweizen yeast, but as a German ale yeast. I haven't tried it on a kolsch, but was happy with the alt that I used it in. I've also had success using it in an American hefe. I also used it in a sorta grodziskie back on the first that I plan to bottle over the weekend.
