Hi just done my 1st AG 5l batch. Everything went well till I transferred to the fermenter and put the yeast in then noticed the thermometer on the demi John said 33.c. I stuck the demijon into cold water and it's gone down to 22.c.up to now. Will the the heat be dead now? Cheers.

It will be fine, as 33C will not kill the yeast. The temp is especially important during the vigorous fermentation which start a few hours after pitching and lasts 2-3 days.

How long was it at 33c?

Not long. I spotted it straight away and put the demijon in an ice bath and brought it down pretty quick. I think it's OK cause its starting to bubble away now. Can't seem to get the temperature below 22 though. It's that OK? Cheers.
