Just received a thermo pot from Germany and am now itching to get going on its conversion to a mashtun. One thing I have noticed is there are quite a lot of scratches on the surface of the inside of the pot. Not too deep as to feel with a fingernail but still a scratch. Is this normal? Is there anything I should do to polish them out or should I just leave be?

Thanks

Keep it all visually clean but you don't need to worry too much about scratches in a mash tun as it will all be boiled later. I wouldn't on the other hand use scratched plastic fermenters or kegs.

Its always worth inspecting delivered goods before signing for em..

if your not happy take a few pics and send em to the seller i did and a replacement/swap was organised straight away.

it will delay the build by a week but if your not content with the base pot..
