Hello all, I have aquired a bunch of apples and I thought I'd give my scatter and press a go.

After about 2 hours of effort I have about half a DJ of dark brown cloudy juice, plus a lot of mess.

My press is a 5.5L aluminium job. The scatter is the 5 or 6L bucket variety that uses a drill.

In addition, the scatter is ****. It doesn't seem to scat very well, and the bit of metal that goes into the drill has worn smooth. And yes, I put it on really tight at the start.

Any help folks?

Thanks!

Your press seems more than adequate but the 'scatter' seems not. May I suggest a whole fruit electric juicer from Argos.
How much apple crop are you dealing with?

cheaper, but more hard work, is a strong bucket, and a big stick.

takes a while, builds up muscles, but gets the pulp to whatever consistency you require.
