Spud you could get one of THESE (for beer) or THESE (for wine, but both are fine) for a cheaper price in Wilkinsons, plus they'd be easier to clean

The jerry can would be very difficult to clean if your intend to use as a fv as the cap is only about 2 inch so you wouldn't be able to get your hand in
If your talking about using it for finished produce it wouldn't be any good if you wanted it carbonated as it would take much pressure
