Anyone watching Jamie Oliver take on Belgian beer.

I usually dislike any programmes he is in by it might be worth a watch.

I'm watching with my other eye :!:

Nice looking control set up on the featured brewery

Go to Belgium. I went to Bruges this year and to the Bruges Zot brewery it was fantastic with an amazing selection of fine beers and a different glass per beer.

yes was good looking at ale was taken over you just new we not going to win :thumb: wot about working in the bar over there there was a different glass for each ale :D

 Saw the program guide for it..well worth a watch. I love Belgium beer, but it was good to see all the UK micros doing well.

It was good, and obvious that the Belgians were going to win. They were bloody rude about English beer; the 'public' on the Eurostar, I mean. Grrrr!

Yes the Belgians were going to win, beer is their passion and has been for a LONG time.

It would have been nice to see how close the judging was though, were the UK beers trounced or were they pipped at the post?

The folk on the Eurostar can't be blamed for their comments, they have probably tried the "usual suspects" off a pump in one of the chain pubs.

Flat lager, over-fizzed bitter served too warm or too cold. Stouts served without any thought into any old glass with high levels of Nitro to make them velvet smooth and cooled to polar-bear-bum-cold. Whatever happened to the flavour?

Yep, we have a long way to go before we are as good as the Belgians.

Can't believe they tried to take on Belgium beers  ...twas only going to end one way.
I also couldn't believe the choice of beers taken over...Innis and Gunn FGS  they were no where near style wise, English beers are pretty bland compared to their B counterparts :drink:
We've also lost the art of making high abv/complex ales in this country by pricing them out of the market place  ....but as a home brewer

Some nice looking kit at the Camden town brewery

Going to try adding mature cheddar to a steak pie next time I make one :D

I'm shocked no one has commented on the beautiful head on the bollock
