Just been to Jackson Keay's in Nottingham today. Got a 6.35kg bottle for £13.50 + vat, and a £25 deposit.

Got to say they are a pleasure to deal with and are open on Saturdays for collection up to about 10.30am. :thumb: I think they also do a 'milk round' delivery, but I was a bit desperate to get some quickly.

If anyone is struggling to find a good supplier in the East Midlands, who don't mind home brewers, these guys are pretty good.

Nice one :thumb:

Does anyone know of any brewer friendly gas suppliers in Leeds or the surrounding area.
I've got a small CO2 cylinder that I got from Norm that I need refilling (friend left gas on when I took him a cory of beer) and I've also got a larger cylinder that will need refilling soon.

Thanks!

I've got listed

H.B Clark (Leeds) Sherwood Industrial Estate, Leeds Rd, Robin Hood, Wakefield, WF3 3EL http://www.hbclark.co.uk Tel: 01132 827922, Fax: 01132 821253

H.B Clark (Wakefield) Westgate Brewery, Wakefield, WF2 9SW http://www.hbclark.co.uk Tel: 01924 373328 Fax: 01924 372306

You might have a problem getting the small cylinder refilled though.

Thanks James.

I feel a little miffed that I may have problems refilling the small cylinder.....had I known about this I wouldn't have bought it, as £40 now seems very expensive for 2kg of gas and an empty cylinder :x

Hamstead Homebrew in Great Barr Birmingham will refill small cylinders . . . Which is only useful if you drive past the place . . . . like I did today ;)

Luckily I was able to resist all the temptations of the store . . Despite Rob's best endeavours

Has anybody got any recent experiences with Jackson Keay? I heard that they had stopped supplying to homebrewers.

Quite a few independents won't deal with hb'ers due to the length of time the cylinders are 'in-house' between refils. Unless the cylinders are cleaned and dried properly before refill, they can pose a serious threat if stored long term without movement, hence some suppliers err on the side of caution.

If Rotherham can be classed as the East Mids then the Rotherham Hydroponics Centre will let you have a BOC CO2 bottle for £30 initially and £15 for an exchange refill. Including vat and everyfink!!! No deposit

Now I think that's awesome!!!
