So tomorrow I turn 33. I've taken the day off work, to try and do 3 brews in a day special. I've started this thread more of a reminder to myself as to recipes ingredients and an easy place to keep everything noted down. Feel free to join in or leave me to bang on by meself.

've been brewing since I was a teenager, but only very recently have got into all grain. When I say recently I started 3 weeks ago, done my first brew which took 6 hours and then 2 in one day, 2 days later, taking 10 hours. Surely 3 must be possible if I start at about 6 in the morning!! All from Marc ollossons real ales for the home brewer. I done, Townes ipa, Waverley 70 and 100% satisfaction. All og's and fg's hit. Bottled them tonight, all tasting lovely and happy with how they've come out so far. Anyways, I'm waffling. Tomorrow, I plan on doing some different styles, so here's the plans:

Brew 1 - Erdinger clone:

Grain

2950g wheat malt
2420g pale malt
500g oat hulls

Hops

18g Tettnang Hops (90 Minutes)
12g Perle Hops ( 90 Minutes)
10g Tettnang Hops (45 Minutes)
10g Tettnang Hops ( 15 minutes)

Yeast

WLP300

Will be my first go at a wheat, I've drunk Erdinger here and there over the years, perfect for the summer. 23 batch size.

Brew 2 - Raspberry smoothie IPA

4500g Maris otter pale
250g carapils
250g crystal
600g rolled oats
500g lactose
2100g raspberries (added in Fv)

Hops

20g Apollo (45 mins)
30g citra (15 mins)
70g citra (80c whirlpool)
200g citra (dry hop)

Yeast

Safale - US-05

Seen this recipe on Adam at baldys home brew channel and thought it sounded amazing. Couldn't wait to give it a go. 19 litre batch size.

Brew 3 - NEIPA

Grain

6000g Maris otter
1000g porridge oats

Hops

10g magnum (60 mins)
30g citra (80c whirlpool)
30g mosaic (80c whirlpool)
30g el dorado (80c whirlpool)
40g citra (dry hop)
40g mosaic (dry hop)
40g el dorado (dry hop)
40g citra (dry hop after fermentation)
40g mosaic (dry hop after fermentation)
40g el dorado (dry hop after fermentation)

Yeast

Yeast bay - Vermont ale

Saw this recipe on abbey homebrews channel. Once again looks amazing, got the mouth watering just thinking about it.

So there we have it, 3 brews 1 day in a 3 tier system. Probably taking on more then I should but if I can get it all done in one day it saves me the ear ache from the missus. Wish me luck.

Forgot to add, these will be going into kegs. Just got involved in kegging too, got most of the parts needed to build a kegerator, that's the next project. To sleep now and an early start.

Well, seeing as religion has become such a popular subject on this forum recently, and Jesus got crucified at 33, I'm sure you'll feel the same after your triple-brew birthday!

Work on your rhythm. My brews from start to finish is 3.5 hours. If I do 2 it only adds an extra hour. But my system is slowly being upgraded. My HLT is set up with a 2k watt element which isn't good enough to boil. A second element just came from the States at 1500 watts. I'll add that to the HLT giving it the minimum 3.5 kw to boil. That way I can use the HLT as a secondary boil tank.
So when the first mashing is done, I can drain and sparge into the main boiler. Once I get the boil tank full, dump the grain and start the next mash while the first is getting ready to boil. Since boiling takes 1.5 hours (that's 50 minute boil but takes that other 40 to get to boil then cooling to 75 c ) the second mash is wrapping up and will need a separate boil kettle. Currently I only started mashing when the first got to a rolling boil.

Got up earlier then expected. Crept down like a mouse, trying not to wake the missus and little one. Hlt on and ready to brew. But then there's this lot to clear up from last night!!! (Not including the bike)

Taking in what japanbrew said. The boilers on the go too, makes sense. Cut down some time.

So having 2 boilers on the go from a 4 way gang wasn't the best idea. Early morning being silly there on my part.

Many happy returns and have a great day! Good luck with the brews, the recipes look cracking.

Right. Back on track. No more burning plugs, if I start a fire I'll get in trouble. So grain bill slightly adjusted for the wheat beer, I got 3kg of wheat malt so just added it all in, no point keeping 50g. And I just realised I decided to get pilsner malt and not pale malt for this one. Recommended some where along the line that I read.

Sorry, should have mentioned that each element will need their own dedicated breaker. Mine are at 25 amps each and I'm lucky since new houses in Japan have 3 independent outlets in the kitchen for big appliances.

Cheers ajhutch. And no probs japanbrew, completely my fault, I know better,, just too early in the morning. Haha. Looks I've got a helper for the day, so things should rocket along

Just read this thread :electric::electric::electric: and I'm really interested now..! Thinking about brewing a Bavarian Wittbier myself (but only the one in a day ) keep us posted please. :hat:
And Good Luck..! ( not that you'll need it with the helping hands you've got )

Will do Marlon. Boiled water in at 74c, mash temp at 66c, bang on. Stirring a couple of times during the hour mash. Sparge water cooling.
