is this a good value ag starter kit?

I would like to move forward to all grain in the future I'm gonna stick with kits for a bit but this might make a good Christmas present. is it good value for money or a rip off

Depends on if you have tools available to you and if you like building things :)

It's not a terrible deal for sure.

I looked into this when I first started, but just didn't have the cash all at once, so I opted to build my AG stuff. Still building.. lol

I do have the tools avaliable and fittings (I'm a plumber)
but wouldn't really know what to make so for 300 smakers I'll just buy it all and be done with it

If you don't mind paying 3 times what it'd cost you to make then it's fine.
In fact you could make yourself a very nice shiny system for less than that.

I bought this plus a ss immersion cooler from Hamstead Brew Centre http://www.hamstead-brewing-centre.co.uk/itm01597.htm it got me started, and I've been very pleased with the set up; but of course you could build it yourself and save money :

I would have a look at some of the builds here first, you could make a stainless 10 gallon brewery for less than that. But if someone else is buying
