Is PTFE tape safe to use with beer?

Hi, just a quick question that I am hoping someone knows the answer to. I have a leaking ispindel and currently have it submerged in water with white PTFE tape around the thread. I then just had the thought, is this stuff safe to use or will it contaminate my beer?

PTFE is fine with high ABV spirits so I see no reason why it can't be in contact with beer
