Is cold conditioning nessecesary?

Hi everyone I've recently brewed a newkie brown kit it's been bottled now for 2 weeks carbonated perfectly and is nice and clear it's tastes great so my question is does it need to be cold conditioned?
 
This sounds like the perfect opportunity for an experiment.
Cold condition half of the bottles and when you drink them you can do side by side comparisons (ok, so you have to have at least 2 bottles each time but nobody said it was easy!)
This will show what, if any difference cold conditioning makes.
 
I might just try that sounds like a good idea it tastes a lot nicer when it's room temp I've put a few in the fridge and done a comparison that way not much difference and tastes a lot better than the shop bought stuff
 
Most of my brews at the moment are nicely clear after the "warm" phase of bottle conditioning. I then move them to the cool place (it's really the only place I've got space for them) and they often throw a chill-haze! If you want your beer to keep though, it's not a good idea to store too warm.
 
It's just being stored at room temp which varies from 18-21c I doubt it'll be around long enough for it to go funny
 
For a true comparison you will need to drink them at the same temperature. Allow the cold conditioned bottle time to warm up a bit. Maybe 30 - 60 mins at room temperature. This will allow the flavour and aroma a chance to shine! Then you can see what difference it makes. It will also diminish any chill haze that maybe present.
 
Necessary? No. Beer will clear given enough time.

Helpful? Maybe. Your mileage may vary. Adam1966 is right - give it a go and see. I have just cold crashed and used finings for the very first time. I've also put my bottled Golden Ale outside, but didn't think to keep some indoors as a control. I'll try that next time with the Wherry.

I'd still chill them before drinking.

By the way, I number the bottles as I fill them, so I know how far down the bucket it came from. It would be unfair to compare bottle #2 to bottle #37 for clarity, although I would hope they were both crystal clear.

I've done a similar thing so I know when they were bottles ill give it a go with keeping a few at room temp and cool the others see how they turn out should I leave them for another 2 weeks in the cold? Or will a few days make a difference? I've just gotta bottle the pilsner that's just finished that needs chilling for a few weeks doesn't it so it can lager?
