Irish Moss

I note that in Graham Wheelers book (3rd. Edition) that the use of Irish Moss and Protofloc in not included in the darker beer recipes, dark mild, stout, porter etc.

Is there a reason why they are only used in the lighter bitters, IPA's and similar.

In dark beers you can't see the haze :whistle:

Personally, for stability purposes I would use them, just to extend the shelf life of the beer.

Thanks for 'clearing' up on that. Hadn't realized it contributed to keeping qualities, will add to all brews in the future.
