Hi, I'm new to the forum and fairly new to homebrew for that matter, currently on my 5th attempt with very mixed results so far. Fortunately one gave great results has spurred me onto keep trying...

Apologies I haven't managed to find the answer tot this in another thread (please redirect me if this is covered elsewhere). I've just bought a new Pin Valve King Keg and box of co2, and I'm getting ready for first attempt with it.
I have 23L Black Sheep Bitter 2 weeks into fermentation and very near FG as I type.

However, to date I have always used a basic Wilco Barrel and the King Keg did not come with any instructions (and none are apparent on the BrewUK website)... Although what is clear is I forgot to order the plastic bulb in order to attach the co2, which I'm ordering now. Slightly annoyed one wasn't included but there we are.

Beyond that, I'm planning to sterilise and then prime the King Keg with 100g diluted Brewing Sugar, fill the Keg from the Fermentation Bucket (might add a sachet of Young's finings depending on how the ale looks) then lubricate the main o-ring and close the lid and await the o2 bulb.

So just wondering if I'm missing anything obvious? Is there any other setup steps I need to take? I'm assuming the co2 can wait a bit as the priming should create some initial pressure right? Does the new valve itself need to be taken apart and lubricated perhaps?

Any advice on how to then add o2 to the keg greatly appreciated! These things really aren't obvious until you have some experience.

Many thanks in advance!

Sounds like you have got it covered. You shouldn't need any gas in the keg until you have drunk a good few pints.

Once you get the plastic bit all well be clear. It is just a holder for the little gas bulbs which allows you to attach the bulbs to the brass thread on the top of the keg.
