After 31 A/G brews I am in desperate need of some inspiration for my next few brews. Ive got a full supply of ingredients, and finally got the time to brew them. If you live in the West Mids area, and have a suggestion/idea/recipe, let me know and Ill do it.
Any ideas will help, as Im really banging my head against a wall on this one.
Why is it that when you have got to work you think "Id rather be brewing" and when you get some time off you run out of ideas.

I'm not in UK currently (so I cann't qualify), but maybe it's time to try something you didn't brew yet? Like, some amber ale with buckwheat? Or rye PA?

I have exactly opposite problem, too much to try, too short on free time. My current no.1 to try is 1909 Maclay's OMS, then some XIX century export type stouts. And bunch of AK ales. And strong milds (pre-WWI).

What type of thing have you been brewing?

My suggestion would be an elderberry stout based on alemans effin oatmeal stout but bolstered to 7% and add the extracted juice of 1lb of elderberries per gallon in the last 15 minutes of the boil. It is a mighty fine brew and will make use of all those lovely elderberries that will be around soon. :thumb: :thumb:

I was thinking of a blackcurrant stout, and on a side note......just when I thought I had everthing ready to go......battery failure on the digital scales

Reading about dark fruit additions to stouts 1lb per gallon seems the norm. :thumb:

That seems a lot
But then again, Im a "old school chef" Ill work it out

No I was wrong 400g is about 1/2 lb

Just checked my brewing notes from when I last made it :thumb:

A Wee Heavy might wet your whistle, you need to reduce a gallon of it to a pint, will test your brewing skills at least!

Maybe heather/pine ale, a braggot, or a lambic?

I did that last week reducing a gallon down to a few pints of caramalised wort. It is looking promising though :thumb:
