I have saved up and finally bought the new Grainfather & Connect Box, so I need some simple recipe ideas please for my 1st all grain brew please J The below ingredients are what I currently have, so can anyone recommend a nice brew please? I would also need to know how many litres of water to use at what point, what mash /sparge/boil temp/times, hop addition times etc?

Hopefully I can take this info and build the recipe on The Grainfather app, then the box will prompt me on the next step.

Grains
Maris Otter – 25kg
Crushed Torrefied Wheat – 500g
Vienna Malt – 500g
Munich Malt – 500g

Leaf Hops
Progress – 100g
Challenger – 100g
Cascade – 100g
Amarillo – 100g

I would keep the first one very simple. I'd probably do a mash with 6 kg of MO then boil with 25g amarillo, then add 70 g Amarillo for the last 10 minutes of the boil. Ferment with us05. Should come out pretty well, and not too complicated. Also works well bottled or keg. Good luck.

I love the smell of mashing in the morning.

Here's a good one :

5kg MO
300g Vienna
100g wheat

IBU : 35 (ish)
ABV : 5 % (ish)

10g challenger - 60 mins

25g cascade - 10 mins
25g Amarillo - 10 mins

25g cascade - 0 mins
25g Amarillo - 0 mins

50g Cascade - dry hop after 10 days of start of active fermentation
50g Amarillo - dry hop after 5 days of start of active fermentation

US05 yeast

Thanks for the ideas :) I just need to work out mash times, a large volume etc.

Like the look of that one

Done this tonight, but slight tweaks. I replaced the 10g Challenger for 10g Progress (thought I bought Challenger, but got mixed up). And a used Gervin Ale Yeast which I had spare anyway.

Ended up with 19L in the fermenter at a potential ABV of 6.9%. So I topped it up to 23L (in the hopes I can get 40 bottles) and now has an OG of 1052, so spot on! Cheers for the recipe :)
